What liquids can I measure?
- Hydrion pH Test Strips measure common liquids or what is called buffered solutions. Easily measure the pH of liquids such as orange juice, soda's, cordial, battery liquids even soap.
Are the results accurate?
- Super-sensitive pharmaceutical grade Hydrion diagnostic pH testing strips give you an extremely accurate reading of how acidic or alkaline common everyday liquids are.
What product do you suggest for urine/saliva?
- Due to the broad range of 0 - 14 pH Plastic strips (each 1 pH interval has a 10x measuring factor. For example, comparing a reading of pH 4 to pH 5, the reading of pH 5 will be 10 times more alkaline than pH 4), for accuracy in testing urine and saliva pH, we suggest using finer calibrated testing equipment such as 5.5 - 8.0 pH litmus paper or 5.5 - 8.0 pH Plastic Strips that both measure in precise increments of 0.2 - 0.3.
What is a buffered solution?
- A buffered solution is a solution with adequate dissolved solids to resist pH changes. For example, urine and saliva are considered buffered in their natural state. However, rain water, tap water etc. are considered to be dilute, weakly buffered solutions.
For testing weakly buffered solutions, we recommend our water pH testing kits.
